The Indian converter is most impressed with how the corona unit allows the press to be run slowly or quickly without any loss of performance from the treater.

Originally established in 1990, UV Graphics Technologies is located at Noida in the northern Indian province of Uttar Pradesh, some 30 km southeast of New Delhi. Initially manufacturing and supplying UV curing technology, the company has extended its product portfolio to include an extensive range of label and package printing technology from plate mounters to diecutters and slitters to flexo and rotogravure presses, and many more. Today the company is seen as a full-service supplier to the industry both in India and around the world and its 6,000 sq/m facility is well stocked with machines and spare parts that can be delivered quickly in response to customer demand. Founder and managing director Abhay Datta, and sales director Anand Bhiwandkar are proud of the company’s achievements, which sees UV Graphics equipment representing some of the top manufacturers from Europe, North America, and Asia, as well as being an accredited OEM supplier to the industry. One of its most recent associations is with the Danish pioneer of surface treatment, Vetaphone. Since inventing the corona process in 1951, Vetaphone has continued to lead the development of surface treatment technology for all the non-absorbent substrates that make up today’s label and flexible packaging industries. KD Sahni from Weldon Celloplast, which represents Vetaphone in India, takes up the story: “I visited UV Graphics in April 2022 with Holger Selenka, who is Vetaphone’s sales manager for Asia, and explained the background to the company and its technology to Mr. Datta. Following our meeting and further discussions, Mr. Datta was able to see why Vetaphone corona treaters are the best on the market.” What impressed Datta most was the control of the corona unit that allows the press to be run slowly or quickly without any loss of performance from the treater. This is especially important when running thin film at slow speed because it can easily burn. He comments, “Our customers typically run BOPP and other unsupported films and foils, so to be able to fit Vetaphone’s high-quality corona treaters on our presses gives both parties a real advantage over the competition.” Datta also says that he is impressed with Vetaphone’s short delivery times and the quick and cost-effective supply of spare parts. Speaking for Vetaphone, Holger Selenka concludes, “We are delighted to have UV Graphics as one of our new OEMs and are looking forward to developing our partnership with them and their customers in the future. They have a good reputation in the market, so the Vetaphone brand will be a valuable addition to their portfolio, especially as they expand into wide-web press production.”
